Training?

Howdy ya'll! I hope your days are going well! I'll just get right into it.

Monday: Monday was chill, we woke up and did our weekly planning. After that the ZL's let us know that we were going to practice a musical number for the upcoming Zone Conference. It was a pretty fun experience to be with the whole zone. Elder Walton (my ZL) is really fun to be around and I love talking to him. After that I got a haircut and the day was finished.

Tuesday: We started off the day with some planning and heading to a lesson. The people weren't there, so we decided to do some finding. It was unsuccessful, as we walked from their house to the main road, talking to as many people as we could. After that we went and put someone on date! After that we went and helped paint our bishop's house!

Wednesday: Wednesday was Zone Conference! The trainings were phenomenal and the Spirit was insanely strong. We were taught about the importance of daily planning as well as how big social media is becoming in missionary work! It was super cool and I'm about to do my very best to implement everything that they talked about. After that we taught a couple lessons and made our best effort to help one other person progress!

Thursday: On Thursday, me and Elder Phabia waited for THREE HOURS for a new stove to come, and it NEVER CAME. We wasted three hours of our time for this. We were both super pissed. Regardless, we went to the area and did our very best. We taught a few lessons and made our day as good as we can. We started a trend for playing Uno with the friends who are closest to baptism to help ease their nerves. So far, it's been working and has brought people to church. We will continue doing this!

Friday: Friday was pretty standard, we had DCM and I gave a good training. After that we headed to lunch and enjoyed our time. After that I conducted my first baptismal interview as a District Leader! I was very pleased with the outcome, and I was also happy to help someone come way closer to Christ! After that we had to leave because the people who had our stove were going to bring it. They did! The issue is that the dude just dropped it on the floor and walked out... they did not install it. We currently still have a brand new boxed stove on our floor just sitting there.

Saturday: The temple again! Today was the ward temple trip, and we were invited to bring ourselves and any recent converts that wanted to go as well! We were able to get three of them to come, and each of them absolutely loved it! They were extremely excited and happy to be there! The testimonies they bore were absolutely powerful! After that we went home at the time the stove people promised to be by to install the stove! ANDDD! they were not here and never came. Once again we wasted so much time waiting for these people and they sold once again. We went to the area very late, played some more Uno with a sister on date, and then met with a brother on date. And that will be in the spiritual thought. At the end of the day we received the transfer board! Unfortunately, Elder Phabia will no longer be my companion. RIP. He's going back to Limpopo to be a district leader over there! My new companion is a greenie, so I'll be getting to train while still having all of my DL responsibilities. What an exciting new step!

Sunday: Sunday was a bit lackluster. 90% of those who promised to attend church did not come. Instead, brand new people we've never met came. It was nice to meet them, and it was awesome to make some new friends. After church we taught an amazing lesson, and then went to lunch. During lunch, a huge storm hit that brought pouring rain and tons of lightening. Needless to say, we were stuck inside. When it slowed enough to leave, we quickly bolted home as the daylight had now vanished behind the thick clouds. After that we relaxed the rest of the day.

Spiritual Thought: During our last lesson on Saturday, we brought along one of the people we baptized a few weeks ago, Mongameli. He is 12 years old, and loves joining us to teach people. We taught this guy about tithing and fasting, explaining how it's a sacrifice we willingly give, and a service to God. At the very end of the lesson, Monga; all dressed up in a white shirt and tie on his own, asked one of the most inspired questions I've ever heard. Keep in mind, this kid is 12 years old and was baptized three weeks ago. He asked this friend, "How do you feel wen you serve others?" Elder Phabia and I locked eyes and smiled so big. We were so proud of him and can see how excited he is to become a missionary himself! What a powerful gift he has!

On the flipside, Monga is preparing to go to Zimbabwe to stay with his father for a few years to study... We are devastated to see him go, because he's only 12 and there's no guarantee that his father will allow him to go to church. We are very worried for him, so please, please pray for Mongameli!!

Pray for: Mongameli, Natalie, Ben, Maisha, Gift

Thanks for reading this y'all! Please send me emails, I don't ever get any in return...

Much Love,
Elder King
