MTC Week Two 09-19-2025
This was a pretty eventful week, so I'll try to explain everything as best as I can. It was a great week, even through all the business. I'm tired, but not of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Saturday: The day after pday. Saturday was a very good day. We started this one off by going to sand, and getting cleaned up afterwards. Breakfast is always fun after we compete a little bit. After lunch we went to the temple. We did the initiatory and baptism for the dead ordinances. It's so cool to see how different they do it from the temple back home! I loved it.
Sunday: My first Sunday at the MTC! This day was super spiritual and definitely tiring. There were so many great experiences and great messages shared that day. Me and Elder Christensen taught a small lesson in Elders' Quorum and it went well. Sacrament meeting here was so peaceful and fitting for the environment. Finally this thing called Go and Do happened. There was a small devotional for about half an hour, then every district separated to do a couple of hours of personal study, then got together again to discuss what we studied and how it made us feel. It was amazing to journal after that.
Monday: This Monday was one that could be easily forgotten. We once again started our morning off with some sand volleyball. It's a great way to get the blood flowing and the heart pumping, plus it's tons of fun. After that were just a couple classes and a workshop, all practice and nothing new.
Tuesday: Once again, the day started off with sand volleyball. This was another super spiritual day. We started this one off, after volleyball, by going to the temple. We did an endowment session and that room was massive compared to Dallas! Once finished, the Celestial Room was also super sized! I loved it even more than the first visit. When we got back, we went to lunch and that's when I went to a choir rehearsal, which I then performed at that night's devotional. We had a general authority join us at the MTC, and that was Elder Kevin G. Brown. He's a member of the seventy, and gave an amazing talk! We then split up again and discussed what we learned with our districts. What a spiritual experience that was!
Wednesday: We started it off again with sand, of course. This Wednesday was just a normal classes day, except that we helped nearly 600 new missionaries come into the MTC! I walked a few to their residence halls and go to know a couple of great new Elders! After that was about half a class and then lunch. Then that night was a great normal class. More practice for the field could never hurt!
Thursday: Yesterday was 100% just a normal classes day. We woke up and, you guessed it, played more sand volleyball. After was just breakfast, class, lunch, class. Pretty standard for a regular day.
Friday (today): Today started off a little slow. That may be because we didn't immediately head to the field. Shocker, right? Anyways, we started this one off with a workshop to prepare us for the field. It was entertaining enough and di help prepare. Then after that we changed into pday clothes and cleaned up our residence hall a bit. After that, was the best part of the day. SAND VOLLEYBALLLLL! Yea, we had to fit it in somewhere. We did that for an hour then got some sack lunches to eat. We came back to the residence hall to shower and change for another short meeting about travel. Once again, after that we got changed and headed back to the field. More sand volleyball never hurt, right? anyways, that brings us to now where I'm preparing to go to a night class to finish the day off.
FIVE DAYS LEFT!!!!
Spiritual Thought: This week's spiritual thought comes from Elder Brown, as his talk really hit me. He informed everyone that we, every missionary there, CHOSE to BE CHOSEN for the last days. We raised our hands to take on the hardest time in the world, and are preparing to save some of it as we go out and serve.
