Finding Frenzy

Howdy y'all! I hope your week went as good as mine! Monday:  I don't remember much of what happened on Monday besides that it was Zone pday and we played a pretty fun game. We also planned out a competition for the next two weeks, the Finding Frenzy. Basically we will be awarded points depending on how many people we find, and after two weeks whichever District has the most points, wins. We don't know what the award is yet, but we still hope we win! Tuesday:  On Tuesday I went on an exchange with Elder Andriamarotiana! He is from Madagascar and a great missionary! We taught so many lessons and found quite a few people, so that was cool! At the end we did and exchange review, and he told me that he's gonna be implementing what I showed him, which not only makes me feel great, but it also means he learns really quickly! What a great day! I also slept in his flat, which has no fans and was super hot the whole time but it was awesome. Wednesday:  On Wednesday I woke up in E...

It's So Good to Be Back!

Howdy y'all! Another week has passed, and this one wasn't so bad. Enjoy! Monday:  Last Monday was a whole lotta nothin. We hadn't gotten our allotment yet, so we had no food to eat and nothing to do. We sat around literally all day because without food, we had no energy or motivation to do anything. Tuesday:  Tuesday was a pretty good day I feel. We taught a few lessons, one with a friend we have on date. The others we taught are all hopefully going to be on date soon. They were all powerful, and I really hope that they lock in for church in the coming weeks. We got allotment late that night, so we went and bought what we needed to eat for the night, so for the first time in two days we had food in our bellies for bed! Wednesday:  With the newfoud money we had, we decided to spend the morning shopping for groceries. We got all that done in about an hour and a half, got some lunch, and went home to put it all away. After that we headed to the area! Today we had the ...

Exchanges, Midtransfers, and Money

Howdy y'all! I hope all has been well with you and I apologize for not sending an email last week, I was crazy tired by the end of the day. Last Week:  Last week was a great week, We had some nice exchanges with the Ap's, and we had Elder Tsihala go with us for a couple days. We used their car, and that was pretty nice. Those were the two most productive days of the week. Last Friday we had one of the ZL's go with us, Elder Reyes. Since they didn't have a car, and no access to an extra bike, we had a walking day. That was pretty relaxing and we had some good conversations. On Saturday we had a stake-wide soccer tournament and that was decently fun. I played keeper for the missionary team. Monday:  Last Monday was pretty normal. We just went grocery shopping and hung out for the day. Nothing super special happened. Tuesday:  On Tuesday we discovered that we had no water! This sucked because I always shower in the morning, so I had to wait until the water came back to bec...

I am a District Leader 🤨

Howdy ya'll! I apologize for forgetting to send an email last week, but not a whole lot happened! Last Week:  Last week the most important thing that happened and the only thing that I remember is that the transfer board dropped and I'm staying in Saulsville as a District Leader! It's a brand new step and I'm excited for the opportunity! Monday:  Last Monday was pretty normal, we woke up, worked out, then went to go get lunch. After that was some hanging out and even more hanging out. Tuesday:  We spent Tuesday pretty well, we taught three of our most progressing people, including the family that we have scheduled to be baptized on the 29th! The others have basically expressed that they already want to be baptized, they just need the commitment to come to church. Pray for Natalie and Gift! Wednesday:  On Wednesday we tried to reactivate some previously interested people but had no success, instead going to a less active member's home to teach a lesson! Her gra...

6 Months, 1/4

Howdy y'all! This week was an interesting one, and I apologize for the late email! I'm finishing this up today! Monday:  Last Monday I don't remember much. What I do remember is that the other companionship in our complex has Elder Legodi, and similar to Elder Redondo in Limpopo, Elder Legodi has become a great friend of mine. We worked out together and had some pretty fun conversations. Tuesday:  The workweek begins! That day we only taught two lessons. Both of them went very well, but both went a little too long. Due to this, the rest of the things we had planned for the day didn't end up happening, which was a bummer. That night we had our call ins and Elder Bester, our DL always likes to talk to me. It's a shame that he goes home next week. I'm gonna miss him. Wednesday:  Nothing special happened on Wednesday. In fact, the opposite happened. We got up, prepared, and headed out with lunches packed up. Once we got to the chapel, we sat down and ate our food. ...

Blessings in Disguise

Howdy y'all! Another week has passed in the mission and it was pretty normal, so I'll just jump right into it. Monday:  Elder Phabia had another eye appointment, so we got to hang out with Elder Collier for a little while. It was pretty chill. After that we just went back to the flat and relaxed for the rest of the day. Tuesday:  We started the day off with going to see a recent convert to help her understand and get started on some family history work. She's very excited to go to the temple and it's very amazing to see one with so much faith! After that we went to find a media referral. It turns out that she's a young girl who wants to be taught but can't because of where she lives. After the small high from earlier, this was very disappointing. After that we taught the same family who's progressing very well. A day of ups and downs. Wednesday:  Wednesday was a bad day, as both me and my companion were feeling a little off. When we got to the area, we both ...

Back and Forth

Howdy ya'll! Sorry for neglecting to send an email last week, I was extremely distracted and had a very busy pday. I will give a fast recap of what happened that week, and also attempt to keep the recent week brief. Last week:  Last week on Sunday, we had the baptisms of Sisters Lupita and Pontsa! They were very happy to finally participate in the ordinance, and both gave wonderful testimonies! The rest of the week was filled with missed confirmed lessons. It was a struggle both due the the heat and exhaustion, but also the discouragement of people just lying to us. After all that, we still pushed forward and did our best to make the rest of the week better. Now onto the recently passed week. Monday:  On Monday Elder Phabia and I got up a bit earlier than normal pday to get a Bolt (Uber) to the city for an eye appointment for him. It went well, and the head of medical office gave us a free R100 for lunch! After that we chilled/cleaned in the flat while I figured out som...
