MTC Week One 09-12-2025

 Hello my friends!

This email comes soon after the other, but my p-day for the MTC is on Friday. Since I just got here on Wednesday, there's not a whole lot to tell.
Monday - On Monday, I had my last day of home MTC and that was fantastic. Some good learning came from that day but there's nothing specific that happened. I was able to finish up my packing and also slept at my own house for the very last time.
Tuesday - Tuesday was the first day of travel. I said goodbye to my family for the last time in two years and got on the road. My dad and Caleb rode with me, because my dad was taking him up to BYUI right after dropping me off at the MTC. We stopped at Buc-ee's for lunch and compiled the whole day of driving to 13 1/2 hours. When we stopped we had made it to Cortez, Colorado, where we stayed the night in a hotel.
Wednesday - Wednesday was the second day of driving but also the day I arrived at the MTC. When we left the hotel, we only had 5 1/2 hours left to go. we got on the road as soon as possible and made it to Utah by 11:45. We stopped at In-N-Out for my last time in two years and ate lunch together with Westley, who lives in Utah and goes to BYU Provo. Once I checked in to the MTC, I met up with the Elders in my district and we were all late to our first class. We got lost. Once we made it to class we met all the Sisters in our district and went to our welcome devotional. After that devotional, we went to dinner and came back to the same room for a second devotional. The final testimonies made everyone laugh.
Thursday - Thursday was the first full day at the MTC. We woke up and made our way to breakfast before attending our first in person workshop. It was about family history and the importance of it in our lives. After that, me and Elder Christensen had our first in person Helping Others Appointment, which we think we did very well on. After that we had lunch and made our way to a regular class. We practiced our teaching skills, specifiaclly teaching about the Book of Mormon. After that we had dinner and had our first meeting with our branch presidency. They are awesome! I can't wait to hear their messages for us on Sunday. After that we came back to the residence halls and chilled out before bed.
Friday (today) - Today is our p-day! We all got up early and, as a district, we all went and played sand volleyball. After that we split up, some of us went and hung out in the cafe while we ate breakfast, some of us ate on the way back to the field. After that, our district had our service project. We cleaned the bathrooms in one of the residence halls. After that it's just been chill out and play ping-pong or with the Jenga blocks. Me and Elder Christensen went the the bootleg creamery on campus and got some icecream and treats. Up until now it's just been hangout an dstudy with the roomates!

Spiritual Thought: Alma 37:4, referring to the plates of brass, says, "Behiold, it has been prophesied by our fathers, that they should be kept and handed down from one generation to another, and be kept and preserved by the hand of the Lord until they should go forth unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, that they shall know of the mysteries contained thereon." This verse struck me in class because it's referring to us in these latter days. We, the missionaries of the world are fulfilling this prophesy, spreading the word of God contained in the Book of Mormon to all the world.
