I am a District Leader 🤨
Howdy ya'll!
I apologize for forgetting to send an email last week, but not a whole lot happened!
Last Week: Last week the most important thing that happened and the only thing that I remember is that the transfer board dropped and I'm staying in Saulsville as a District Leader! It's a brand new step and I'm excited for the opportunity!
Monday: Last Monday was pretty normal, we woke up, worked out, then went to go get lunch. After that was some hanging out and even more hanging out.
Tuesday: We spent Tuesday pretty well, we taught three of our most progressing people, including the family that we have scheduled to be baptized on the 29th! The others have basically expressed that they already want to be baptized, they just need the commitment to come to church. Pray for Natalie and Gift!
Wednesday: On Wednesday we tried to reactivate some previously interested people but had no success, instead going to a less active member's home to teach a lesson! Her granddaughter isnot baptized and could be interested, but we'll have to follow up with them again this week. After that we went to teach another very well progressing sister. Hopefully we can put her on date soon! Pray for Blessing!
Thursday: My first official day as a DL! Regardless of the title, I have no real power haha. I just have more responsibility. I now have to perform exchanges, assign trainings for District Council Meetings, and do weekly call-ins with the Elders in my district. Anyways, this was absolutely the best day of the week! We taught lots of powerful lessons, dedicated a house with the priesthood, gave two blessings of healing, and finished the day off with a meal appointment! It was a great day.
Friday: Friday started out rough. I woke up with a splitting headache and hoped that as the day went on that it would fade. I was wrong. As the day progressed, it got worse and worse. After District Council, we got district lunch, ate together, and bolted to the area. By now, my head felt smashed in, blowing up, and stabbed all at the same time. The other Elders headed out to do work and we had to come home so I could rest. After such a spiritual high the day before, this crushed me.
Saturday: I woke up to the headache from the previous day still lingering, though far less severe. I was able to function and do plenty of work! We went to Natalie and taught her about faith. After that, we spent our time trying to find someone who wanted to meet with us! This took about an hour and when we finally pinpointed her location, her family said that she had gotten sick while we were searching! We don't really believe them... But even with that, we went and taught our family about President Oaks and made sure they remember plenty of the things they need to know. Please please please pray for them!!!!!
Sunday: It was a great day, until the end. We showed up to church super early in order to prepare the font for a baptism! After that the second counselor in the bishopric gave us a call and assigned me a surprise talk! As the font was filling I wrote and prepared a quick message and went to sacrament meeting! Everyone said they loved my message and that it was inspired, and that felt so good! After the two hour service, we began the baptismal program for Sister Rajpathy Linda Motilall! She is so excited to be baptized and to finally be a member of Jesus Christ's true church! What a spiritual excperience I had, being lucky enough to be the one to baptize her!
Spiritual Thought: This will refer back to Thursday, when I had the privilige of performing so many priesthood ordinances. For each of the blessings I gave, I felt prompted to wash my hands before each laying on of hands. Each time I prepared in this way for the blessing, I felt so much morein tune with the Spirit than I had previously. Each blessing I gave was so different, so unique to the one who requested it. I felt so pleased with myself, and I knew that my Father in Heaven was also pleased with me, as a worthy and willing priesthood holder. I love this gospel!
Well that's it! I love you all! Don't hesitate to send me emails or respond to this one!
Much love, Elder King
