I haven't crashed...yet(?)
Howdy ya'll!
It's great to be able to write another email! Enjoy!
Monday: It was my very last pday in the Limpopo Zone! Due to that fact, Elder Muller and I made sure to get me ready to go to a brand new area (to me). He was kind enough to give me his old small pros bag and a tiny set of the scriptures! After that we had some nice lunch and played a ton of asketball before cleaning up and heading to the Andelins for a chill pizza night. Elder Andelin called me jacked! YES!!
Tuesday: Today was just another go see people to say goodbye to. It was quite sad, and I kept thinking about how hard it would be to adjust to a new area. Anyway, the Monyepao's cooked us an amazing goodbye meal, and I had some great conversations with them!
Wednesday: I don't remember much but saying goodbye to even more people and getting completely packed for the new adventure. I remember it was my last drive anywhere with Elder Muller, and I was pretty sad about that.
Thursday: Travel day! I ended up driving down to Pretoria with my future DL, the British Elder Bester. We had some very nice conversations and it really helped us to get to know each other. After that we hung out at the Pretoria chapel for a few hours just mingling with the other missionaries. I was able to meet up with my MTC room, shoutout Elders Christensen, Blau, and Judi! After that we stuffed this small car with my and Elder Bester's luggage and made the 50 minute drive to my new flat. There, we met with Elder Phabia, my new comp! He's pretty great, a really funny guy. He's from Tanzania. We get along great so far, and he's a great leader of the area! That night we played games with the other elders in our complex and it was a good night.
Friday: Friday was my first official day in the area, which is 30 minutes away from our flat again. The thing this time though, is that neither us nor the other elders in our flat have a car. We have to use a thing called Bolt (basically uber) to get to our area and back everyday! Anyways, after our first DCM together, we were in the area and I adpated pretty quickly to the biking. It'll be tough on my legs for a little while but I'm sure I'll get used to it real quick. We taught a couple fire lessons and I left the new area feeling fantastic!
Saturday: The second full day in the area! It was a great day, and it helped me get to know some key people in the ward. We also met with an amazing young man called Tumisang, and I put him on date straight away for the 22nd of Feb! He's very excited and he's progressing very well. We also met with one other sister called Lupita who is getting baptized on the 8th! It was a great day.
Sunday: Sundays this side will be wayyy better on my mental health. The attendance here is so good! With all the paved roads, there are no excuses. A lot of people also have cars! God knew I needed this small blessing. Anyways, with the fantastic church attendance, Tumisang brought a friend to church!! His name is Thuli and he definitely wants to learn more. He loved church and says he wants to come back every week! We also met another sister who is also getting baptized on the 8th! Her name is Ponsta and she is extremely excited! After that we had a nice member meal and had some fun conversations there!
Spiritual Thought: God knows everyone personally. He knows every single name of every single child that He's sent to earth. He also loves each and every one of us personally. This really struck me this week, becuase I prayed so hard that the church attendance here would be less discouraging. I was sick of the sinking feeling I got when sacrament meeting started and no one showed up, and it was seriously affecting me. He put me into an area where He knew I wouldn't have that serious stress, and it's helping me thrive! God loves YOU!!!
Well that wraps it up! Send me emails about your lives, I seriously love reading them!
Much love,
Elder King
