The Miracles of God

Howdy, my friends and family! I hope all is well for all those around the world and especially those at home. Let's just jump right into it this week.

Monday: Last Monday we tried to go and see Sister Graca, but we were blocked and threatened by a riot on the road. Because me and my companion are white, we were literally chased out of town by those who were rioting. A fun little experience, but we were protected and unharmed. The bakkie can't say so much as the same thing.

Tuesday: Comp exchange! Elder Muller went to Tickyline with Elder Rami andI went to Lenyenye with Elder Lasley, the greenie we pranked a few weeks ago. I helped him learn how to improve his finding approach, learn how to teach by the Spirit, and also to teach to people's needs. He was so dead set on teaching the planned lesson, that he tried to discount some questions and feelings those we met that day had. I helped him to understand that we are these people's friends first, not missionaries. After leading a few lessons, I was able to help him learn how to fix his mistakes and try to not make them again.

Wednesday: Finding... finding... finding. This is all we did today. We lucked out and found one decent family, but the catch with them is that they live very far away from the chapel. This is something that has made many of our best, most progressing people stop doing so. We are seriously worried that this will be the downfall for these promising souls. We continue to pray, and we continue to hope and have faith. If you people want to pray for them, their family name is Masanamela.

Thursday: Thursday was a pretty good day. We met with that family again, and introduced them to the Book of Mormon. We met with two of our friends who are got baptized on Sunday, and taught them about the temple. We had many lessons, dropped some more people and got one very good referral. We are hopeful for these people, and can't wait to continue meetif with them.

Friday: Another day like Thursday. We continued to teach some, and we met a great inactive member who has potential to come back to church! We also went and met with the referral that we got, and we taught him about the power of the Priesthood. He already knows so much about our church, and he wanted to understand why we do things the way we do, and so we told him, and now he understands. After that, we went to go see an inactive returned missionary. This man is severely mentally disturbed. When we met with this guy, he kept mumbling, referring to himself as "we", and consistently that he saw evil spirits and zombies that continually told him that they wanted him dead... We told him that we would bring back some more men with the Priesthood so we can give him a blessing, and invited him back to church so he could partake of the sacrament. We know that we will be visiting him again to help him. But the worst part of this visit? Right after he told us about seeing zombies, he asked me and Elder Muller what our blood types were... We left soon after. We will be returning to help him asap.

Saturday: On Saturday, we spent most of our time at the chapel, filling the font with water. We called many people, and got one more referral from our ZL's. He's a very promising man, but we also didn't see him at church. We went back to the Masanamela family and read the Book of Mormon with them. The oldest daughter was very interested, and promised us to read more. We are very hopeful for her.

Sunday: Sister Lucy and her daughter Mahlatse have been baptized! After being taught for nearly 7 months, Lucy had come to church for her daughter to support her at the primary program! Her daughter has been consistently coming to church for aolmost 3 years, that many had already though that she was a member. After that initial visit to church, Lucy's spiritual flame became an inferno. We began officially teaching her daughter and helped Lucy remember the things that she's already been taught. When they were finally baptized, Lucy gave a powerful testimony and I'm sure that they will continue to grow in the gospel. Other than that wonderful experience, the rain streak continued. It's now been nearly 2 straight months of the rain EXCLUSIVELY coming on Sunday, continuing to prevent people from coming to church. We had nearly 0 attendance today again, and it's heartbreaking to see how easy it is for the adversary to sway the will and faith if these humble people. The rest of the day was missed lessons and contacts. a spectacular beginning, to a bleak end.

Spiritual Thought: God perfoms many marvelous miracles in each of our lives, every single day. It could be as simple as your next meal being filling, or your electricity returning. Maybe sometimes it will be as obvious and extrordinary as a path of walking dried as you take the next steps. No matter how big or small, God blesses each of His beloved children. As I read in Exodus and followed the story of Moses, I come to realize that God has truly blessed His children in all ages of time. Just as God provided the freed Israelites their needs, God has provided His servants, the missionaries with theirs. Elder Muller and I had to stop teaching the majority of all those who we had. We lost many promising souls and had no motivation to continue on. As we gruelingly decided to go door to door, we found that one family as I mentioned. We also were given multiple promising referrals and now have a full teaching pool again. As we continued to be faithful in our efforts, the Lord guided us to knock in that specific place, and led His prepared spirits to find us.

Until next time,
Love, Elder King
