Woke up to a gunshot...heard something outside

Howdy yall!

Sorry for another late email. Hope yall enjoy!

Monday: Not too much I remember. I don't think anything super special happened outside of me and a couple other elders went and layed some bricks for our branch pres. Fun labor!

Tuesday: A pretty regular, standard day. Nothing too crazy happened, and nothing super out of the ordinary. Just lessons, contacts, and driving.

Wednesday: Kind of an off day. We only taught one actual lesson, and resorted to helping branch president again with his bricks at the end of the day. We had some nice snacks after from his wife so that made the day a little better.

Thursday: The best day of the week! All of our lessons went through, and we didn't have any real gaps in our schedule to fill. Busy and uplifting, a great day!!

Friday: A pretty mid day. A couple lessons, a lot of contacts, and another brick session with President. The guy is 68 and wants to refuse our help with manual labor. What an insane man!

Saturday: Saturday was ROUGH! We had very little rescheduling through the week and so we had no lessons planned for the day, besides Graca and Molefe, who are still progressing nicely. The rest of the day was just FILLED with contacts over the phone, just trying to meet with people who used to be in contact with missionaries. It was sad when no one wanted to welcome us back. But we will definitely keep trying with some!

Sunday: A ton better than last week! People showed to church, and the relief society president is always so kind and helpful when we show up to coordinate with her! Somehow she always has ckae ready for us, but we dont complain! The day ended with a huge down, because we found an inactive member fam who all stopped going to church, presumably because of alcohol abuse. When we met them Sunday afternoon, everyone was drunk and said that was why their lives changed for the better... we will keep trying with them.

Spiritual Thought: This week was tough to find a spiritual thought in, it was so monotone. But the Lord always has something for us, even if we don't believe it. I was reading in Jacob 2, and it really explains how much the Lord loves his beautiful daughters! Heavenly Father would go to any length to keep His daughters protected and pure! How deep His love is for them!

Until next time...Love y'all!

P.S.
I realized I never addressed the title...
Anyways on Sunday morning at around 3am, I woke up to the sound of a gun being fired super close by. Knowing what it was kept me awake the whole night, and so I was extremely tired from lack of sleep and also fasting for the month. After the gunshot I heard someone walking on the roof of the apartments nearby so that was pretty exciting. (Very scary too)

ANYWAYS there you go. Also my compa did not wake up to it, and neither did the other elders in the complex. So maybe im just going crazy? Up for yall to decide...

Love yall! Elder King
