The Work Hastens

Howdy ya'll! It was a great past week and I'm sorry for the late email. It was a busy week and a busy day but all good anyways!

Monday: Last Monday was pretty productive. Elder Müller and I got the bakkie serviced and hung out with the  Ga-Kgapane elders all day. We also had the senior couple over to help clean out the extra fridge we had in our flat. It was covered with black mold inside but Sister Andelin dove right in and started scrubbing without fear. She's awesome!

Tuesday: a very good and fulfilling day! We taught many lessons and met even more members. Lots of success and inspiration! We had a service project and dug a nice trench in the road for a family who needed to connect the water line to their home. Very fun physicsl labor! We also began teaching a new friend named Molefe and his first questions for us were about baptism. We're very enthusiastic about his potential!

Wednesday: Another hard working day. We met with a lot of new people but also found a couple more who are interested in hearing our message. We also ended up meeting half the primary! Lots of fun with them and a very passionate group of children.

Thursday: This was another very good day. We taught many lessons same as the past two days and met a couple more members. We even discovered an inactive family that might be able to come back to church very soon!

Friday: This was a successful day, but rather uneventful. No huge news, not big lessons, no surprises. It was normal but kind of boring. Good but long.

Saturday: This was the day for legends. We started off by moving a whole fridge in the bed of our bakkie 30 minutes away to our area. It was extremely sketchy but I rednecked a way to make it work. I took the bed cover off of the bed and then we hoisted the fridge in. After that we used our jumper cables to secure it down as best we could since we weren't provided with tow straps. Join the photos to see pics! Even though it wasn't very trustworthy, with many prayers said we got it to the area with next to no issues and didn't lose our bakkie or the fridge. Afterwards was a successful day of lessons and it was very hot. We also ate lunch outside and just of the side of the main road. It was tons of fun and a great way to end the workweek.

Sunday: The mood of the week significantly dropped. Clouds rolled in and it began to rain. Hard. It rained from about 9pm Saturday night to about 9pm TONIGHT. Straight. Being that there was so much water, the dirt roads in Tickyline turned into pools of mud and filthy water. We had a total of 6 people partake of the sacrament. Only 6, including Elder Müller and myself. It was extremely disheartening because we had invited so many people to church and followed up with all of them. We were expecting a huge turnout but it never came. Even so, after the sacrament, one more family rolled in and they had brought one of our friends, Graca! What a powerful young woman!! The rest of the day sucked because we couldn't really see anyone. And because I felt super sick all day.

Spiritual Thought: This week's spiritual Thought cones from church. There was no power, no running water, and nobody in attendance besides us, the Branch President, his daughter, and two of his grandkids. Later, that family showed up but it was 5 minutes before we closed. It sucked. But we went on with our meeting anyway! The total time of our church service was about 30 minutes, but so powerful! Elder Müller and I both gave out testimonies after the sacrament and it brought such a strong spirit. Even though there was such a small amount of us, the Spirit was able to join us and fill us all with love and peace. What an amazing testimony of the importance of church!!

Much love,
Elder King
